Kansas keeps Collins, Aldrich around for 09-10 season
Kansas stars Sherron Collins and Cole Aldrich announced Monday night that they would both be returning for the 2009-10 season.
Their return makes it likely that the Jayhawks will be the preseason No. 1 team in the country.
Collins, who will be a senior next year, led the team in scoring (18.9) and assists (5.0) last season while the 6-foot-11 Aldrich, who will return for his junior campaign, was second on the team in scoring (14.9) and first in rebounding (11.1).
"We have a chance to be in a race for another national championship and go down in history with two [titles]," Collins said. "My mother has been begging me for a senior night for a long time. So now she gets it."
Kansas will also return starting guards Tyshawn Taylor and Brady Morningstar as well as starting big man Marcus Morris and twin brother, Markieff.
