UNC reclaims No. 1 spot in coaches' poll
The University of North Carolina jumped to the top of the coaches' poll after defeating rival Duke and claiming the ACC regular-season title on Sunday. The poll shift might help the Tar Heels clinch a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
This is the second time UNC has held the No. 1 spot after spending eight weeks there at the start of the season. Pittsburgh, Memphis, Connecticut and Louisville round out the top five.
Senior forward Tyler Hansbrough said playing his last home game was tough, but it was important win. "It's a hard game to play," he said. "You're thinking about everything. You're thinking about your after-game speech. You're thinking, 'Oh man, this is my last game in the Dean Dome,' and you start to think your college career is coming to an end. Then you're still trying to focus on the game and get the win."
Selections for the tournament bracket will take place Sunday.
