No. 4 Pittsburgh knocked off the top-ranked UConn Monday night 76-68 in Hartford, Conn.
This was the Panthers' first win over a top-ranked team. The loss ends a 13-game winning streak for the Huskies.
UConn's loss makes them the fifth top-ranked team to lose this season.
DeJuan Blair led the Panthers with 22 points and 23 rebounds. Levance Fields also helped Pitt by scoring all 10 of his points in the last four minutes of the game. UConn's Hasheem Thabeet was held to five points, four rebounds and two blocks.
Both teams lead the Big East with an overall record of 24-2. Pittsburgh sits right behind UConn in the conference standings with a 11-2 record. The Huskies are still No. 1, for now, with their 12-2. Their only other loss was to Georgetown in December.
