Unranked Loyola shocks No. 15 Butler
Loyola of Chicago upset No. 15 Butler in a 71-67 victory Sunday in Indianapolis.
The win gives the Ramblers their first win over an unranked team since Feb. 22, 2007. Butler's loss ended their 16-game home win streak, also making it the second loss in the last 16 games overall.
Loyola lost to Butler in their first meeting of the season 78-55.
The Ramblers took an early 24-26 lead with less than two minutes left in the first half, the Bulldogs' biggest deficit all season. Loyola's Jordan Hicks led the team with a career-high 23 points. With 31 seconds left, Butler's Matt Howard was able to bring his team within two points of Loyola's 69, but Butler was unable to capitalize.
Both teams take on new opponents Wednesday.
